People are starting to notice

Last night at work I had 3 people mention my weight loss. They all said I looked good and asked how much I've lost. When I tell them 32 pounds I get strange responses. One girl said I am wasting away. Really? I am still well over 200 pounds, there is no wasting away here. I'd have to lose over 100 more pounds to be wasting away. Another girl, when I told her I wanted to lose at least 50 more pounds, said I would be way too thin if I lost that much. Um, no. If I only lose 50 more pounds I will still have a BMI over 30, I will be around 180 pounds at 5'4". I will still be technically obese.

I am one of the largest girls where I work. I think these girls just don't realize how much I really need to lose. To them, 32 pounds seems like a lot, but when you ultimately want to lose close to 100 pounds its not that much. I know most of them couldn't imagine losing 100 pounds so it probably seems crazy to them. They are thinking of the number, and not comparing it to the overall picture.

I am proud of my weight loss so far, but that doesn't mean I don't still have a really long way to go!

  1. You absolutely should be proud of what you've accomplished. It's amazing that sometimes people feel defeated when someone else is succeeding. Keep up the great work!
